Assistants on strike

So I have 3 google homes. 1 hub and 2 minis. None of them are working. Any time I say “Hey Google” they light up for a solid 30 second they say “there was a glitch”. I’ve tried resetting them, unplugging them all at the same time. I’ve reset the WiFi and I’ve called my internet provider and they say there is nothing wrong on their end. Anyone else having this issues?

I'm having the same problem and poor connectivity the last few days to my Nest mesh hubs. I have reset multiple times and still have a poor connection. I think Google must have run an update in the last few days. Nothing else changed in my system.

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting and apologies for the late response.

Quick question; who is your internet provider? have you tried moving it closer to the router? Also, make sure that the devices are within 15 feet and try to unplug for 1 minute and reboot the router.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Nikki

I’m using fios and all three of my assistants are close enough to the router. Range isn’t an issues. Nothing has been moved or changed. I think it has to do with downloading the new iOS on my phone.

Nothing changed in my environment other than my Google nest mesh system pushing slower speeds and disconnecting from my devices.

Hi John153,

Thanks for the information. A few questions:  are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? How many devices are dropping from the network? Also, do you have any paused devices?

Give these steps a try:

If you're using a modem/router combo, set that to bridge mode to avoid double NAT issues.
Make sure that there is minimal to no interference (concrete, bulletproof glass, metal, mirror, etc.) and the points are no more than two rooms apart.
Remove any special characters in your network name and password.
Turn off IPv6.
Set a custom DNS at 8.8.8.8 on the primary and 8.8.4.4 on the secondary server. Hit the save/ floppy disk icon on the upper right.
Unplug the power from your Google Wifi devices for 2 minutes.
If the issue persists, try factory resetting your network.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Nikki

I completed your suggested actions and I am still suffering from extremely low speed and daily disconnects of my other Nest products
