Audible doesn't cast anymore (any google home display)

Audible and casting to Google nest hub max or any google home with a display.

I can't get Audible to cast from my phone to the hub. It works for about 2 seconds loads the book on screen finds where I am up too but then seems to crash and just sits with Audible logo in the middle.

I initially thought it was because I had a older Lenovo google hub and it just stopped being supported. So fine wanted a better screen anyway so got the next hub display.

Still won't work. New phone, still won't work. (Pixel 10 pro)

It's not worked on this hub device since I got it but it's did use to work on the Lenovo say 2 yrs ago.

The problem is if I cast to anything that doesn't have a display works fine even the tiny gen 1 google home speakers. However if I use a device with a display it won't work. If I cast to a group say the entire house. It works on every device. I just can't pick any google display individually and have it work.

Its been litteral years. It's not Audible since it works if I pick anything but the display or if I cast to a group. I am at my wit's end.

Yes I've unplugged maytimes. Soft and hard reset many times on both devices.

Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Blade12444,

I’m sorry to hear that you can't cast Audible to any of your Google Nest Displays.  I understand the casting starts but then crashes, which is especially confusing since the same cast works fine when sent to a Google Home Mini (1st gen) or a group. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts you have tried to resolve the inconvenience, as this is very helpful. Don't worry, help is here.

Please answer the following questions to help us figure this out:

  • What is the firmware version of your Google Home app? You can find it by following these instructions: Open the Google Play app, then search for the Google Home app, tap the Google Home app, scroll down, and tap on “About.” The app version will be displayed under the “Version” heading.
  • What type of audio books did you try to play on your display?
  • What type of display do you have? You can check this Google Nest Help Center article as a reference to identify it: Google Nest and Home device specifications.
  • Are both the casting device and display on the same WiFi network?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna
