the broadcast message is back to using computer voice, not the actual human voice. this was fixed last year, now it's back to that lame computer voice that messed up the actual voice message. hope something can be done asap. i am using google home 1st gen and google home mini 1st gen.

Hey folks,
A few of you have noticed, we've been ramping up an update to address the Google Assistant voice issue. The broadcast feature should be working as expected. However, if this changes please reply here to let us know.
Thank you

Hi do you have any solution to this problem? Broadcast is useless to me now when I'm away from home. Even inside the home, I came broadcast from my phone or watch

Hi
1. Google sometimes only let's me broadcast in English and not in Filipino, I'm in the Philippines
2. Google assistant on my phone (samsung S 23 ultra) and my watch (galaxy watch 6 pro) has stopped broadcasting. Imstead, it's repeatedly asks me, "what's the Message?" even if it has already recognized the message.

Tried it now, June 7, 2024. It seems to be alternately using my actual voice and the assistant voice. . hope you can fix this soon. thank you for your efforts in resolving the issues.

any update on this issue? it's still buggy. the feature is unusable. it's literally trying to broadcast in english and if it cannot find the equivalent english word, it omits words. this is getting bothersome. hope you can fix it asap. just let it use the actual voice broadcast and don't let the google assistant try to translate or convert it to AI voice.

hello, any updates on the broadcast. it seems to be getting worse. the chances of hearing the actual voice message is getting lower. and it seems its now converting all broadcast to computer voice. hope you can give us a feedback ASAP. thanks.

Got a new problem with broadcast this last few days.
Occasionally from one nest mini, the broadcast is just static noise rather than any actual message.
Still also occasionally get the translated message into the google voice as well!
06-24-2024 08:34 AM
Still not working correct--maybe worse than before. Now, sometimes when I broadcast, there's simply no message. One second of static.

New issue happening now. When you first try to broadcast all that comes out is a loud static popping noise and it doesn't send the message. If you try again it gets out one or two words then cuts off not finishing the message. Again broadcasting is broken ....

Anyone else confirm this issue for me?
If you say something like "tea will be ready in 10 minutes" It'll use your voice but say
"tea will be ready in"
and just cut off the minutes part, it's like it refuses to say numbers even though its using your actual voice!
06-27-2024 09:50 AM
Yes or it will convert 10 mins to 10 o’clock.

I guess the broadcasting feature will never be fixed. Having all the same issues still. AI voice if it decides to send the message, numbers aren't understood so the message comes across as nonsense, the static pops are still happening. Can't use the app to broadcast either. We chose Google because we thought we would at least have reliable products but boy were we wrong, we already had to replace the security system since it was discontinued, now we're going to have to replace all the home speakers too ....

What are the alternatives to Google nest for broadcasting and home automation?
07-09-2024 07:11 PM
I know Amazon Alexa does. They call it announcements
07-09-2024 08:07 PM
Wil probably look into that. I only have to replace 7 nests anyway,

Dunno what your native language is but keep in mind that alexa 'speaks' very few languages. The sole reason why I have not switched.

Received this reply on another thread. No longer available??? This is ridiculous

Google is just going to give up on the broadcast function aren't they? I mean, they clearly don't have the talent or drive to actually fix issues important to their customers.
If this function continues to screw up, and it still does 75% of the time, I'm forced to leave:
Nest Subscription
YouTube Premium Subscription
Google Play Pass Subscription
Google One Subscription
And the thousands spent on Google hardware.
That's just me. Never mind my family I'm taking with me. Sick and tired of always waiting for Google to 'can' products I use.

This is where my family is at also. The amount of money I’ve spent for them to keep discontinuing products is just not acceptable. Instead of providing quality service they’re just giving up. We will be replacing all google products asap

Hey there!
Thanks for the information.
I want to clarify my initial response - broadcasting from a smartphone using Google Assistant to a smart speaker/display is no longer supported. However, you can still broadcast messages from one smart speaker/display to another.
Do you mind sharing a bit more about the unintended behavior you're experiencing with broadcasts and I can look into it?
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Melany

If you take the time to read this entire thread you will see the issues users are having. This thread has been open since April so there is a lot

hi, @gmelanymelissa can you further explain what features are no longer supported? i tried to broadcast using my smartphone and i was still able to hear my own voice on my smart speakers. though sometimes AI voice will take over. i guess Google team can't fix the issue no more and the quick solution was to just kill the feature. is that it? it's a useful feature at least for me, hope you can clarify matters. thanks.
