Broken link to add Tapo to Google Home

Hi, I have a new nest and three Tapo bulbs I’ve set up in Tapo app. When I try to add them to Google home app I’m getting an error - a broken web link that cuts off the process.  Here is the url it tries to send me to when I click agree and link

I can’t proceed here, please help. I bought this to be able to verbally control the lights and this makes that impossible.

thanks!

Hey DomReddogsVR,

Thanks for reaching out — let's see what's going on.

Make sure your Google Home and Google Assistant apps are updated. Also, your mobile device, Google Home, and smart light bulbs should all be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you use a bridge, check the Wi-Fi network of the bridge. Also, make sure your lights are working on the native app.

Give these steps a try in linking your lights.

  1. Follow the bulb maker’s instructions to set up your bulb. You may need to set up a bridge or hub.
  2. Plug in and turn on your bulb in the same room as your Google Home device.
  3. Open the Google Home app .
  4. At the top left, tap Add > Set up device > Works with Google.
  5. Tap your bulb maker’s logo > follow the steps to complete setup. You may need to sign in to your bulb maker’s app. The app will guide you through the rest of the steps

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Alex
