Brute force a device re-check?

Alpha17x

From time to time devices connected via a linked service will stop responding via the Home app. They will continue to work flawlessly in their own apps as they are not actually offline and never were.

The most 'hardcore' thing a user should have to do is reconnect to the service but often that fails to work. It seems that Home doesn't really do anything meaningful in the reconnect process because devices all seem to maintain their room assignments.

Is there a way to brute force a purge of all information associated with a linked service?

To Google;

I understand things won't work perfectly all the time but the user experience on this process has been horrible for over 5 years. This is like needing a veteran pit crew to change a lightbulb it goes beyond the point of being ridiculous.

Hi Alpha17x,

Thanks for reaching out. I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. A few questions: What Nest speakers or displays do you own? If you have multiple, does it happen to all of them? Also, are you getting the same experience when you use your phone’s Google Assistant?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni
