Burnt screen on my Nest Hub (1st Gen)

Hello,

The screen on my Nest Hub (1st Gen) has weird white spots on dark areas and seems to display only half of the pixels (the samller text becomes very hard to read).

I've seen that it'a a known problem on the first gen but, unfortunatly, my unit is out of warranty.

Is there any chance I can have a replacement unit (even a reconditioned one) or have this one fixed ?

Sorry for my English, I live in France.

Thanks.

Hi dimitri,

We're sorry to hear that your Nest Hub has weird white spots on dark areas with pixel issues. If you don't mind me asking, how did this happen and what troubleshooting steps have you done? It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest Hub. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops. Restarting your phone might also help.

If the issue persists, then lets revert it back to its default and original settings by doing a factory reset. Doing so means you need to start fresh and re-do the set up. Here's how.

Tell us how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Hello,

The Nest Hub has always been on my living room (for around 2 years) and it worked just fine.

Then it started to have a weird pixelated effect, like if it were showing only half of the pixels. The texts and the lines are not showing properly and the zones with details are flickering.

A few days after that, white stripes started to appear on dark areas of the picture.

I started to look on the Internet and saw that it'a a common issue on the first gen but I have it for only two years so I don't want to throw it away...

I tried to reboot it of course, the router and my phone too, proceeded to a hard reset on the unit to do a factory reset but the problem stays.

I really hope you can find a solution because I love Google products but I'd be very disappointed to have to buy a new Nest Hub after only two years. Replacement screens are also kind of expensive so please tell me what you can do.

Thank you.

Hey there,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you. Have you tried resetting your Nest Hub? Could you tell us what country you are located in?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi,

Yes, like I explained in the post before, I did a few resets but the problem remains.

I'm living in France.

Thank you.
