I could cast from my phone before. Now it is no longer an option. The hub is set up fine, it shows up in my Samsung tablet just like it did on my phone before. We have 2 identical Samsung S8 phones and it has stopped on both of them. This is true from the Google Home app or any app such as Youtube.

If it's any consolation the same has happened to us. Our S20 and S21 won't cast. Tried iPlayer and All4 - iPlayer crashed and said I need to clear the cache, which I did to no avail. The screen on the Nest Max says 'Ready to cast' but clearly isn't! I guess it's definitely a Google issue.

It was very strange since we used to do it every day. I had that "Ready to cast" message for the first time the other day too. Thanks for the reply, just seemed so random.

I used to be able to cast music stored on my phone to my Google Nest Hub Max. Now though, if it manages to cast at all it will only play one or two songs before dying.
this must be an errant update by Google and i wish they would sort it out.
I have also noticed that instructions can take aaaaages to be acknowledged and/or actioned. I'm beginning to think I've now got a useless brick on my sideboard that shows pretty pictures only.

I sorted mine out in the end but can't remember what I did haha. I think it was a case of resetting my hub to factory settings and starting over.
