I had to change the password of my home network and I can not get my two Google Nest Audio speakers to reconnect to it.
Every time I try to connect I get as far as "Connecting to Wi-Fi..." then "Connected" then "Something went wrong. Den speaker may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPad Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iPad's privacy settings. Then try again."
I have factory reset the Nest several times. I have restarted my router several times. I have tried with 2 different iPhones and 2 different iPads. They all have local network access enabled.
I have called Nest's so-called customer support who had me do everything I had already done myself, i.e. reset everything and try again and they had no solution or suggestions.
After I changed the password I had to reconnect all my smart devices and everything connected fine. Ring cameras and doorbell. Nest thermostat. Appliances. Alexa, light switches. The only thing that won't connect are these two Nest Audio Speakers, which are now expensive paperweights.
I would welcome any suggestions on what to do next.

Exact same problem here, except one thing: I have two Nest Audio's and one of them works just fine, the other can not properly connect to my wifi, and if it does, it is usually not for long.
I also reset everything several times and tried setting up the Nest Audio from different phones and tablets. Frustrating. Any tips?

I eventually solved this myself without any help from google.
I brought the nest to a friend's house and they let me temporarily change their wi-fi name and password to mine. I then connected the nest audio there without problem. When I brought it home with the wi-fi name and password in it, it was able to connect to my home network and has been connected ever since.
I was able to do the same for the second one by using my hotspot on my phone and changing it's name/password to match that of my home network.

Hey Muddi, yes, a similar procedure helped me connect the speaker with my wifi. Switched off my router, and shared my phone's connection as a wifi network with the same credentials as my router's network. After a few tries (still!) the speaker was connected to my phone's network. Then I switched my router back on and the speaker connected to my wifi.
Glad it worked, but it all took quite a lot of time. And would like to understand what is the issue here. Any idea?

Happy to hear that those steps worked for you. The steps shared by beastlet is one of our workarounds when connecting the Google Home/Nest devices to a dual-band router that doesn't have an option to separate the two networks. I have a few questions before answering yours - what is the make and model of your router? Are you using a dual-band router? If it's dual-band, are your networks setup with a different name and password?

Yes, I have a dual-band router set up with as one network with one name and password. In most situations I find it practical, because my devices choose their preferred band and I don't have to think about it.
My router is a Connectbox Giga, as my ISP calls it. I think it is made bij a company named Arris or Commscope (serial number ABAP11742270), a Docsis 3.1 cable modem plus router.

Thanks for that information. That's probably the reason why you need to do the workaround to reconnect your devices on your router, because your device keeps switching networks during setup. It's on the router itself and not an issue with your Google Nest Audio. Note that this is not happening to all routers, as I don't have issues setting up my devices on Google WiFi knowing it has the ability to choose the network for my speakers.
