Can't activate chrome cast on nest audio

I have just recently been making my home smart and bought a Google nest audio. All is working as it should be except I can't connect the chrome cast. If I try to find it it always tries to connect me to the neighbour's chrome cast. If I ask to see all devices it shows me a few neighbours chrome casts but doesn't seem to find one in my nest audio. I specifically bought this one because it had chrome cast witch I need. 

How do I find my chrome cast in the nest audio?

Thanks for sharing details about the issue. I understand how it feels when your Chromecast device is not showing on the lists. A few questions: is your Chromecast device already set up? What type of Chromecast device do you have? Are you able to cast using your phone to your Chromecast device? What type of internet connection do you have?

I have a Google Nest Audio witch has a built in Chrome cast.

I can audio cast from my phone to the nest audio but no video casting.

I have út connected through WiFi (fibernet).

The nest audio has been set up and works well for all else. I don't know how to set up the chrome cast portion of it and there are no directions on how to do that.

Hello there,

While you can't cast directly from the YouTube video app to your Google Nest Audio, you can cast your audio using the Google Home app. Check this guide for more information.

Thank you but I specifically bought this one because it has chrome cast and I need that to watch my streaming services on my TV. Mainly Disney+

To make sure, you want to cast from Disney+ to your TV then the sound will be coming out from the Nest Audio? If this is the set up you're aiming for, this is not supported. You can't split the audio and video while casting.

No I just want to chrome cast to the TV. Specifically asked at the store if that was possible with the Google Nest Audio and was told that was so. Just want to chrome cast from my phone or tablet to my TV. 

Being able to tell Google to turn on the show in question would also be a plus.

I am still not finding a way to get my Google Nest Audio to communicate with my TV. I have linked my streaming services to the Google Home app but I find no way of casting them from my phone to my TV or to see my TV anywhere in the app. It is connected to the same WiFi and located in the same room as the nest. I am starting to think that I need to buy a separate chrome cast device, but not really happy with that since this is the reason I bought the Nest Audio, because I was told I could use that to chrome cast onto my TV. 

When I was first setting all this up right before Christmas I googled the problem and found something that said I needed to download a special chrome cast app. I tried to do that and for a second I could see my Nest Audio on the app as waiting to be connected but then a big pop up showed up telling me I had to pay a quite high monthly fee for this app. I am not ready to do that.

I did once have a tiny chrome cast that was plugged into this TV. So I know that it's supposed to work without an expensive app. Unfortunately the tiny chrome cast device was lost while moving between countries last year.

We understood. You can check your TV if it has a built-in Chromecast but if it doesn't have it, it's best to have a Chromecast device so you can cast from your phone to your TV or you can use your Google Nest Audio to use your voice in casting to your TV. I did look at the link you sent but I can't find any way to make my Nest Audio work with my TV. Isn't there supposed to be a chrome cast in the Nest Audio that is supposed to be able to connect to the TV?

Hello there,

Yes, you are right. Nest Audio has a built in Chromecast but it's only for audio. If you want to cast video content to your TV you need to have a TV with built-in Chromecast, Chromecast device or Google Nest displays.
