Trying to connect a new Google Nest Hub Max for first time. Cannot do so. Although I get a message that it has connected, I then get an immediate second message that SOMETHING WENT WRONG, and it says to be sure that Network Access is turned on. It is. Cannot move past this. I read relevant HELP section and none of the suggested fixes work. I rebooted, updated, checked settings and PWs to no avail. Also consulted COMMUNITY and found that a lot of people have my same problem. None of the Expert recommendations worked. Finally, I called the Telephone Support Line. This was of no use at all. I spent an hour, but the person was clearly just reading the same FAQ that I was reading. Result: this buggy product is going back, unless someone has cracked the code and can share. Google sells tech products. It is a shame that they do not offer help and insight from technical experts, but provide only people who have the ability to read from a script.
