Can't find my shopping list

jstew100

I always tell my Google Home devices to "add x to my shopping list" and it has always worked flawlessly. However, for the last few days I am not seeing my new items when I go to my Google shopping list in Chrome.

Two things have happened. First, I was invited to join my girlfriend's Home, so now I have two homes in the app. But when I go to assistant settings and then to Notes and Lists it only shows me my own stuff, not hers.

The second thing is that it seems Google has made some updates and now my assistant seems to push everything to Keep. I didn't have a shopping list in Keep, but when I added one as a test I still didn't get new items on that list.

I assume the first thing is the problem. Looking for help fixing it. Thanks!!

Hi jstew100,

Thanks for posting.

Some Google Assistant devices, like speakers, Smart Displays, Smart Clocks, TVs and the Pixel Stand, can be shared with multiple people. For any shared device, you can turn on personal results to allow the Google Assistant to read or show results specific to you. For example, the Google Assistant may show:

  • Results from your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Photos
  • Recommendations for recipes based on your activity across other Google products
  •

YouTube Music personal playlists, liked songs, uploads, or library content

Important: The personal results setting doesn’t control certain Assistant features provided by third parties like Spotify or Pandora.

Turn personal results on or off for a device

Important: Before you can turn on personal results for a device, you must turn on personal results for the home.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app Google Home.
  2. At the bottom, tap Home Home and then Settings Settings.
  3. Under “Features,” tap Google Assistant and then Personal results.
  4. Tap the name of your device.
    • To turn on personal results: Check the box next to the device name.
    • To turn off personal results: Uncheck the box next to the device name.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess

I'm having similar problems. I used to be able to add items to a shopping list that was managed by shoppinglist.google.com. One of my lists was called "grocery". Now when I say add XX to Grocery List it responds with XX added to "shopping" list. There is no "shopping" list and I can't find my item anywhere.

Shopping list doesn't seem to work on non-Google devices.  I tried a Sonos Move, Sonos One, and my iPhone with Google Assistant logged in and personal requests turned on.   It works perfectly on my Google Home Display (gen 2).

I noticed that all non-Google devices respond with 'I've added xxxx to a list called shopping' instead of 'My shopping List'.  Hope they fix this soon!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the additional info you've provided. Can anyone here confirm if you have already tried performing a complete reset to their devices to see if this would make any changes?

Keep me posted.
