Can't get HubMax and Nest Audio to play as HubMax as controller

My HubMax and Nest Speaker operate independently. I bought the speaker to create more sound in the room but they operate as two devices. I can send a command via HubMax to the speaker but the sound only comes out of that speaker. I want both to operate as a single system. Does anyone have any ideas on this topic?

Hey KelvinN,

Apologize for the late response, let's see what's happening with your devices.

If you're referring to pairing them together, you can only pair devices of the same model. If you want to play music with them simultaneously you can try creating a speaker group consisting your Nest Audio and Nest Hub Max. Here's a guide:

Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top-left, tap Add> Create speaker group.
  3. Tap each device to add to the group. Next to each selected device, a check mark appears.
  4. Tap Next> enter the name of the group> Save.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Alex
