From the Home app I've set up speaker groups. However one group, when I open it to make changes it gives an error message, "you are not allowed to manage this group".
How can I change this?

Maybe I neglected to mention that I've done all that. I completely re-did my home groups and renamed them. I uninstalled the app and I made sure to use my default email.
None of those things made any difference with my instructions not being followed. Renaming my group made it work, but I've done this before and it doesn't last.

Hi Mclem,
Thanks for posting and apologies for the late reply. Let's sort this out.
A few questions: do you have other home members added to your home structure? Are you the primary user? What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? Also, you can check out this link on how to manage home members.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Nikki

Thanks for responding. It's only me using the system.
Lately I've changed the name of my group with success, but I've done this before only to have it foul up again.
I've done a full reset of my system. It didn't help and was a big headache.
When I set up my group of speakers the system prevented me from managing the group. Why? I kept checking and eventually I could manage my group. That's when I changed the name.
I also continually have issues with "hey Google" responding incorrectly to my commands. Yes I'm speaking clearly and it's commands I've used often. Google will sometimes do something entirely different. Sometimes its ok.

Hey there,
To make sure, are you using a regular Google Account? Try reinstalling your Google Home app. If you'll get the same result, could you try creating a new home structure and move your devices there. Also, make sure the correct account is signed in to your Google Home app.
Best,
Alex

Hi Mclem,
How many Google Home/Google Nest speakers do you have? Do you have a 2 way factor verification on your Google Account? Also, we might need to reset your speaker to refresh your device.
Kind regards,
Alex

I really don't know what two step verification is. If it's how I log into Google it's not an issue as I never log out. Doesn't address the irregular response either.
I've reset, regrouped and started totally over. Yes I deleted the app. It's exactly the same as both times I did that.
I have 6 mini, one with a small screen.
