Cannot play podcasts by voice command on Google displays and Google minis

All of my Google Nest displays and Google minis cannot play podcasts by voice command anymore.

Hi Jcc,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Could you confirm if YouTube Music is working on any other music service that’s active? What command have you given and what’s the error message?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

Once done, try to give different commands. See this guide for more information about listening to podcasts.

 

Also:

  • If the speaker or display doesn't play the podcast you requested, try to be more specific in your command.
  • Downtime or Filter settings might impact Routines. Refer to [How to] Set up Digital wellbeing for details.
  • You might want to check parental controls if a child is involved.

After a couple of days, everything was working fine.  Everyone in the household was able to play their podcasts without any issues.  Not exactly sure what happened, but no issues now.  It seems to have fixed itself...or perhaps a software update was made.
