Seems in the last day of so a problem has developed when trying to switch from playing the radio to playing Spotify on my Nest Audio 2nd gen speakers.
While playing a radio station trying to switch to playing Spotify will no longer work, e.g. saying 'Hey google resume spotify' or play a particular song or artist it responds with the response that it it will play Spotify but instead it continues to play the radio. I tried just stopping the radio first but it still does not work because it just goes into a pause status for 10 minutes and will just resume the radio instead of Spotify. Only solution is to wait 10 minutes for the casting to stop or open up the google home app on my phone and stop the radio casting from that. Then Spotify will work.
Routines do not solve the problem since there is no way to stop the casting from any command while in 'pause' status. If it was possible to stop the casting with a command I could workaround this PROBLEM but there seems to be no solution without opening up the Google Home app on a separate device. Mind you a workaround should not even be necessary, e.g. up until a day or so ago there was no problem.
What is going on???

Further update.
After talking to the google help team in chat, tried many things including unlinking Spotify and Re-linking and nothing seemed to make any difference. In the end took the plunge and did a factory reset on both speakers, re added them and linked together as a stereo pair.
Shock of shock, it seems to have worked, so at the moment all working OK again. Hopefully it stays that way since going through the rigmarole of a factory reset is always a bit of a pain.

Problem back again. Seems to be more of a problem with using Spotify full stop. Even when using Spotify, if I try to change the music to something different within Spotify, e.g. give a verbal command to change to a different piece of music or even a different playlist, the response comes back that it will do this, but instead it just keeps playing the same music it was playing.
Only option is to use another device such as a phone to change the music or tell it to stop playing then wait 10 minutes for it to come out of pause status completely, then reissue the voice command for the different music. Obviously this last option is not really practical.
Of course the other option is to factory reset the speakers and re add them back. This is impractical if I have to keep doing this every 4 or 5 days.
Up until a week ago everything worked fine for the last 18 months.

Hello Kadven,
My apologies for the delayed response. I wanted to check if you still require assistance with your device. If you do, I recommend trying a sequential reboot, which can help refresh the connection between your devices and your network. Additionally, please ensure that your Google Nest Audio devices are positioned within 15-20 feet of your router to ensure they receive a strong signal from your network.
Cheers,
Muddi
