Cant get gente wake up to work with nest mini 2

Hi there! I'm having trouble getting the 'gentle wake up' feature to work properly with my alarm on my Nest Mini 2. I've set up my Nest Mini in my bedroom alongside a Yeelight Bedside Lamp 2 and a Yeelight Color 2 bulb. I've activated the 'gentle alarm,' and my Nest Mini 2 confirms that it's been activated for my two lights, and it will start before my morning alarm. However, when the alarm on the Nest Mini 2 goes off, the gentle wake up feature has not been started.

Interestingly, if I say 'wake up lights at X,' it works perfectly fine. This makes me confident that both lamps are capable of the feature. Any advice or suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello allroska,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

The Gentle Sleep and Wake feature allows you to slowly brighten or dim your smart lights, switches and plugs. Gentle Sleep sets your lights to a warm white color, then slowly dims them over the next 30 minutes. Gentle Wake Up brightens your lights over a period of 30 minutes to imitate the sunrise.

Before you begin

  • This feature is available for all smart lights, switches and plugs that are set up under the device type "Light" in the Google Home app. Learn how to change your device type. If your device doesn't support color, your lights will still brighten and dim.
  • This feature is currently only available in English.

Link your smart lights in the Google Home app

Set up your smart lights in the Google Home app by following the instructions in one of these articles:

Use your voice to start Gentle Sleep and Wake

  • Start Gentle Sleep or Wake on all smart lights in a room. -- Say OK Google, “Sleep my lights” or “Wake my lights” (when you are in the same room as the lights) or OK Google, “Sleep the lights in <room name>” or “Wake the lights in <room name>” (when you are in a different room than the lights)
  • Start Gentle Sleep or Wake on one light. -- Say OK Google, “Sleep <light name>” or “Wake <light name>”
  • Schedule Gentle Sleep or Wake. -- Say OK Google, “Wake my lights at 6 AM” or “Sleep my lights at 10 PM” (when you are in the same room as the lights) or OK Google, “Wake my lights in <room name> at 7 AM” or “Sleep the lights in <room name> at 9 PM” (when you are in a different room than the lights)

Note: You can say this command up to 24 hours before you want Gentle Sleep or Wake to start.

Let me know if these work.

Best,

Princess
