Anyone use these? I've got 6 bulbs and one smart plug. Until a few weeks ago they worked fine. Now when I tell the assistant to turn these lights off it will complain they aren't available then go ahead and turn them off. They work just fine with the one echo dot I've got. Any ideas what's going on?

Hi Jondalrun,

Thanks for reaching out.

Could you please try these steps and see if this will resolve th issue?

Step 1: Ensure the bulb is working on its own

Step 2: Power cycle the bulb

Step 3: Ensure Home app is up-to-date

Step 4: Force close the Home app

Step 5: Reboot router

Step 6: Reboot the Google Home device

Step 7: Factory reset the bulb

Step 8: Use the Cync app to see if the bulb can be found (do not complete the setup)

Step 9: Set up the bulbs in the GH app.

Let us know if these steps work.

Best,

Princess

I followed the steps you listed. I was able to see all bulbs in the cync app. I set two lights up in the gh app with no issues. I set up a third light that briefly showed up as offline in the gh app but showed back up after I told a speaker to turn it off. I was setting up the next light and got most of the way through the process then encountered a problem. Now the remaining lights are no longer visible to the gh app. I've tried running setup from both my phone and tablet with no success. They are visible through the cync app but not the gh app.

Hi Jondalrun,

Thanks for trying the steps. Can you please perform a complete reset to your Google Nest speakers and this time, let's set up all the devices including the lights to a different home structure.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess

Just to clarify: are you wanting me to reset all the speakers or just the ones near the bulbs giving me problems? And would I need to reset my Nest WiFi as well since the wifi point can be a speaker?

Hi Jondalrun,

You can just try it to one speaker so we can check if this will fix the issue. Keep us posted.

Princess

Hi Jondalrun,

Chiming in to see if you still need assistance with this. Hope the previous post helped. Let us know if you have additional questions, otherwise we’ll be locking the thread.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I factory reset a speaker and the associated bulbs. I can still see them in the cync app but not the gh app. Something happened since my last reply. A bulb that was behaving started showing up as off line in the gh app but would still respond to voice commands. Then we lost power for a while (not sure how long) thanks to Ian and that bulb has behaved itself ever since.

Hi Jondalrun,

Thanks for the update. Let's try to reboot your phone simply by turning it off for a few minutes. As soon as you turn the phone on, make sure that it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network where the bulbs are connected. After that, try the command "OK Google, sync my devices".

Let us know how it goes.

Princess

I tried those steps before I reset the speaker. I even tried a tablet. Should I try again now that the speakers reset?

Hi Jondalrun,

Yes, it would be better if we can start fresh from setting up your devices and see if this would fix the issue. We'll be waiting for your update.

Best,

Princess

Short answer is no joy. I tried the three remaining lights one at a time. One appeared to be added to the gh app. I even got a joined the network notification after setup. But it wouldn't respond to voice or app control. Another went the same route and worked for a bit then went offline and one of the functioning cync lights went down as well. A third bulb was seen by the gh app but did not blink during setup. I tapped the my light didn't blink app and the light disappeared completely. All three are seen by the cync app and if I complete the setup function properly. I've also tried clearing the cache and data then uninstalling and reinstalling the gh app with no joy.
