I bought a whole bunch of JBL speakers with Chromecast and already have a Nest Mini bluetoothed to a speaker. I put them all in an audio group to play music throughout the house.
The issue is the Nest Mini bluetoothed is actually QUICKER than the other speakers. By approximately 500ms (making the 200ms delay function useless). Everyone else has the exact opposite issue. It's even quicker than the Google Home Mini was - that synced fine when not bluetoothed.
Things I have tried to remedy this:
Any tips here apart from chucking it all in and moving to Sonos?

I don't have an answer. In fact, I'm hon here looking to solve the exact same issue. The Nest Mini syncs up fine but when I try to use my JBL Charge 4 its ahead. I'm hoping for both of our sanity that someone with answers chimes in here.

Hey folks,
I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out.
Make sure your devices are connected to the same network and within 15-20 feet of your router. Give these steps a whirl:
Recommended: Group delay correction adjustments should only be made while music is casting to the group. This adjustment allows the customer to immediately hear the changes they made.
Let us know if the steps help!
Thanks,
Alex

What you suggested was to use the group delay correction.
In my original post I said:
The issue is the Nest Mini bluetoothed is actually QUICKER than the other speakers. By approximately 500ms (making the 200ms delay function useless).
So what you suggested is completely redundant.

Hey FreezerMan2001,
Sorry for the confusion.
Have you tried deleting all the speaker group that you have and created a new one? Also, try resetting your Google Nest Mini.
Best,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your response. Here are the things I have tried to solve this:
Nothing has worked thus far.

Hey FreezerMan2001,
Thanks for doing all those steps. Since it's only happening when you pair your Home Mini to your JBL speaker, is there a way to reset your JBL speaker as well? This might also be related to the latest update about speaker group that if it contains non-Google speakers or Cast-based devices may not work properly in speaker groups.
Kind regards,
Alex

Hi Azarco,
There seems to be some misunderstanding, the issue happens when I pair the Home Mini to my bluetooth speaker.
If I pair a different JBL Music to the same bluetooth speaker (JBL Music acts as the home assistant, using the bluetooth speaker as the 'Default music speaker') then the issue inverses. That is, there is now a delay on that connection in the speaker group.

Hey FreezerMan2001,
I understand. To make sure they are on the updated version, resetting your Bluetooth speaker might help.
Thanks,
Alex
