I have the latest Chromecast with Google TV, and I love that it can use Bluetooth directly to my Google Home to use it as a speaker instead of the tinny projector audio.
However, there seems to be ongoing, unacknowledged issues with the Bluetooth implementation, as discussed but not addressed here:
EVERY SINGLE TIME I start watching Chromecast after waking it up from watching the night before, I have to go through the process of re-pairing. I only have one device connected to Bluetooth on both the CC and the GH. Why can't it just remember and reconnect or just stay paired?
Super-frustrating that so many Google products are so half-baked - almost great is more frustrating than knowing something doesn't have capabilities.

Is this just shouting into the void? I was under the impression that this would be feedback to actual Google devs.

Hey there,
I'm really sorry about the late response, just going through a large backlog of posts! I'd be happy to look into this issue a little deeper, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

What am I supposed to answer here?
The Bluetooth works, as indicated, the issue is that your devices don't stay paired with each other, which seems like basic functionality, and you're not clearly telling me if the behavior I've described is expected or unexpected.
The Google Home and the CCwGTV disconnect from each other every single day. Is that expected when you "power off" the CC or it's idle for 8-16 hours?
It seems like the two devices should stay paired for this feature to be useful, but your response doesn't really tell me whether I'm seeing a bug or not, so I can't tell if I should bother troubleshooting or if that's just how they're designed.
It's been happening for 3+ months.
I don't know the firmware version. Does it update automatically? If so, then it's the latest version...
They pair just fine, but they don't stay paired. I've deleted all the other devices that were paired, which was just another set of headphones. I have to repair every single time I try to watch TV with audio on the Google Home (the big, original version).

Hey there dannoirl,
I went ahead and talked with the engineering team about your Chromecast set-up with the Google Home device as a speaker, and I was told
that you can add your Chromecast with Google TV and Google Home and Nest Audio devices in a speaker group to play music, podcasts, and other audio entertainment. However, we don't officially support pairing Google Home or any of our other speakers with Chromecast as an audio output for video playing on the TV.
"While some folks may get it to work a few times, we can't guarantee that it will always pair successfully and stayed paired. What we would recommend, if they have the time, is that they submit feedback using the keywords Pairing Nest Audio with Chromecast."
I hope this clears up any questions you have, but if you had any more questions or concerns, I'd be happy to help out some more.
Best regards,
Jeran

This is basic functionality. It is very disappointing that this wouldn't be a feature between two products made by Google in a system that's supposed to flexibility connect a house. Please add the feature.

For sure, I'll get this feature request passed up, since it does seem like functionality I would also expect personally. If you would like, you can submit feedback as well, but no need to if you don't have the time.
