I have a google home mini 1st gen. that was connecting to the wifi available in my apartment building. The wifi routers were changed and now I can't connect to the wifi network.
I have followed all the steps, resetting the mini, downloading a new google home app, creating a new home.
when i use the google home app to a the mini, the mini is found, the network name is found and the associated password is accepted. i select the location (den) when prompted then the connection to the wifi network is attempted, after a few seconds I get the message "Could not communicate with the Google Home Mini"
I have done these steps many times without any luck. Help, what am I missing?

Hi BudA,
I think that probably your router has 5Ghz freq enabled, but Google Home Mini (1st gen) supports only the 2.4 Ghz.
Are you sure that the 2.4 Ghz is enabled on your network?
Cheers

Hey BudA,
My apologies for the delays. Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. To eliminate network issue, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home Mini).
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers,
Muddi
