Connecting to Yamaha sound system via Music Cast or other route (in South Africa)

Hi there,

We bought a Google Next Hub, and want to link it to our Yamaha built-in sound system.  But (yamaha) Music Cast and Google do not pair together in this country (South Africa) despite both devices advertising that they will work.

Is there another solution?  The Bluetooth connection is spotty between the system and the kitchen where the hub is.

IF I WERE TO PURCHASE A HUB MAX and put it by the yamaha amp, would I be able to connect the Hub Max as OUTPUT to the amplifier via a cable?  It seems online that it specifically says input.

Many thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam40,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that you're unable to pair your Yamaha sound system with your Nest Hub in your country. I understand how frustrating this can be. I'm here to help.

  • Currently, this option isn't available in your region. We're always looking for improvements; please share your experience and submit them to the feedback form for future updates. Also, the Nest Hub Max isn't an option as an output to your amplifiers.
  • However, you can try to create a speaker group to cast audio from your Nest Hub and Yamaha sound system into the Google Home app as a suggestion. Here are the steps to create the group:
  1. Make sure that your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your third-party speaker and your Nest Hub.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. Tap settings, then devices, groups, and rooms, then speaker groups, and then create speaker groups.
  4. Tap each device that you want to add to the group. A tick check will appear next to each selected device.
  5. Tap Next, then enter a name for your group, and then tap Save.

Also, here is a good article for more details you can review about creating and managing speaker groups in the Google Home app.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Byron
