Connection error

I can't get my Google home mini to connect after following all instructions,  can someone help me?


I still couldn't get ir to hook up.

@Woody74, this is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: when did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? Are you trying to connect to your own Wi-Fi router or a public Wi-Fi? 


You can start by following these steps:


  1. Reboot your Google Home Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals. 
  2. Turn WiFi on and off on the mobile setup device.
  3. If you have a dual-band router, try setting up your speaker on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. 


Please note that your speaker is not compatible with public WiFi networks such as business networks, shared apartment networks, school dorm networks, school networks, and mobile hotspots or pocket WiFi devices.


If you've already changed to a different Wi-Fi network, try these steps:


  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top left, tap Add + > Set up device > New device > set up new devices in your home.
  3. Follow the in-app steps.


If these steps above don’t solve the issue, you’ll need to factory reset your speaker or display, then set it up again using your new Wi-Fi network and password.
