Connection to Homematic IP no longer works

Pokédad

For a few days now, I've had the problem that Google Home shows my Homematic IP devices as offline even though they work perfectly via the Homematic app. The Nest devices have also been saying for a few days that they can't reach Homematic. I've now tried deleting the link and adding it again. The Homematic app says it's linked, Google Home says the service isn't available.

I've also read in other forums that many people have the same problem but no solution yet.

Hi @Pokédad

Thanks for posting in the community. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing.

It seems to be a communication problem between your Google Home devices and your Homematic IP devices. Despite the Homematic app showing the devices as linked, Google Home is unable to establish a connection. Based on that, let’s check the next:

Network Issues:

  • Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure both your Google Home devices and Homematic IP devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and have a strong signal.
  • Restart devices: Restart your Google Home devices, Homematic IP devices, and your router.
  • Check for network interference: Devices like cordless phones, microwaves, or other wireless networks can interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Try moving your devices to a less congested area.

Homematic IP Issues:

  • Update Homematic IP firmware: Ensure your Homematic IP devices have the latest firmware installed.
  • Check Homematic IP app settings: Verify that the Homematic IP app is set up correctly and that there are no conflicting settings.

Google Home Issues:

  • Update Google Home app: Make sure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Check Google Home settings: Verify that the Google Home app is configured correctly for your Homematic IP devices.

Let me know how this goes to keep assisting you.

Thanks,

Catheryn.
