I recently changed my wifi for both 5G and 2.4G to have the same wifi name and let the router decide which band the device needs. However now that I've done that the only thing that wont connect to the wifi is my Nest Mini. It fails when connecting to the wifi with a message "Could not communicate with your Nest Mini".

Had similar issue:
Nest mini worked well. But I took it on holiday to use as a speaker in a holiday home and set it up to that WiFi ok.
Now when I try to set it up again on my home network it won't work. Set up process works well up to a point - set up assistant finds the Nest Mini, it plays a sound etc. But when it gets to choosing the room it's in and connecting to the WiFi network, it fails and says 'Could not communicate with your Nest Mini'.
Have tried all sorts: using saved WiFi password, entering it manually, resetting the WiFi router etc, but to no avail.

Hey folks,
Sorry to hear that you are having an issue reconnecting your Google Home to your network.
A few questions — is your Nest Mini within 15 to 20 feet (5 to 6 meters) away from your router? Are there any other networking devices on your network aside from the wireless router, such as an extender, repeater, or another access point? Also, was it connected before to the same network?
Give these steps a try:
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Alex
