Could not reach philips hue

Chazz25

There have been a few threads like this, but still no solution. When trying to link philips hue account after logging in to hue and granting permissions, Google home app reports: could not reach philips hue, please try again.

I tried resetting the hue hub and starting all over, tried the same process with another hue administrator, same result.

I hear it is possible to resolve this with an iPhone but I don't have any.

Is there another workaround?

Hi Alex, none of the steps offered by the community helped in my situation.

Creating a new philips hue profile with a new email address did the trick. Used meethehue account to add a bridge again to the new profile. Provided that the bridge is connected to the same WiFi network (I turned off all mesh devices) the bridge is added to the new profile and then added to google home the via new hue account. Everything works now.

Thanks for reaching out to help.

Hey Chazz25,

We're sorry you're having trouble controlling your Philips Hue device using your Google Home — let's see what's going on.

A few questions: was it working before? Are your lights still working on the Philips Hue app? Also, make sure your Google Home, Google and Google Assistant apps are updated.

Give these steps a try:

1) Log into https://goo.gle/2XvvW4S
2) Click "Apps" at the top.
3) Deactivate all "Google" activated account
4) Launch Hue app on the phone
5) Click on the "Settings" icon at the top right.
6) Click on "My Bridges"
7) Click the "i" icon next to the bridge
😎 Click "Clean Up" and confirm.
9) Go to Google Home and link the Hue account as usual
10) Note that the lights don't show up right away. You need to leave the Home Control page, wait a few minutes, then go back.

If the issue persists, try resetting your Google Home or Google Nest speaker.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex
