Dark spots on Google Nest Audio?

Hi everyone, 

Today I woke up and found lots of dark spots on the Nest Audio cover. 

I thought it was just dust or dirt, so I tried cleaning it with some cleaning products but I was not successful. 

I have also opened up the speaker to check inside the mesh cover, but there was nothing visibly out of place. No dust was found on the inside either.

Has anyone experienced something similar with their Nest Audio?

Any suggestions on how to eliminate these dark spots would be greatly appreciated.
