Disconnect device from old WiFi network

Hi, 

we have recently changed our internet provider and I’m trying to connect out 2x Google mini speakers to the new WiFi through the Google home app. The difficulty is that we no longer have the old network, from what I can get her my phone must be connected to the same WiFi as the speaker to remove the speaker from that network? Obviously I can’t do this so what can I try next?

Have you tried doing a factory reset (to clear all settings including Wi-Fi) and then reinstalling?
