Hello,
I moved recently with new wifi and set up Google Home in new house but am running into display below. I have factory reset all speakers and refreshed app, unplugged and replugged. Ultimately am able to use device manually however I cannot directly connect speakers together for playing music via app. They do not appear to play music. I even unlinked and reminded acct. I hAve verified these devices (hubs) are all connected to correct Wi-Fi as well.
As it won’t let me post photo, here is what is stated on phone:

When I got a Nest Hub 2nd gen earlier this week, it said that it didn't have connection, even though I could see in my router that it was connected, and han Internet acces.
I found out that it will only use the Google DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, and these IP's had been blocked in my router at some point.
So maybe it's the same for your devices? You can check if the Google DNS servers can be accessed from your network by pinging the addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Well, I would say that I know why my Nest Hub couldn't connect, but I don't know why it can only use the Google DNS servers? It came with the first firmware update, so it can probably be removed again with a firmware update.

Hi Jens_G,
Domain Name Systems (DNS) are like the internet’s phone book. They maintain a directory of domain names (like "google.com") and translate them to IP addresses.
Automatic: This uses Google Public DNS or your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) DNS if certain conditions are met. Automatic is the default DNS selection, although the default may be different depending on how you obtained your device.
Let's hope that it will not change anything in cases that your device receive firmware updates.
Best,
Princess

Thanks Princess
I can't see anywhere in ny Nest Hub 2nd gen where I can change DNS to Automatic. As it is now, the Google DNS seems to be mandatory.

Hi Princess
I think the link relates to the setup in Nest Wifi, and not in Nest Hub 2nd gen? My router is set up to use the DNS from my ISP automatically.
It seems that the Nest Hub 2nd gen will only accept to use the Google DNS.
A chromecast also normally uses the Google DNS, but if it can't connect to that, it will just use the DNS chosen in the router. If a Nest Hub 2nd gen can't connect to the Google DNS, it displays that it lost network connection, instead of using the default DNS from the router.
