Display change at night

  • During the night the clock display changes to a 'G' in the centre of the black screen and no time is displayed. You have to tap the screen a couple of times to get the time back, frustrating when just wanting to check the time.

Your Nest Hub might be going through its nightly automatic reboot checking for firmware updates. It happens to ours as well; sometimes it takes awhile. Ours seems to happen anytime between about 2 am and 4 am.

Hello Simontip63,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I appreciate @MplsCustomer for helping here. I know how it feels when you're having issues with your Google Nest Hub. Let's try to get to the bottom of this. A few questions: when did the issue start? Which specific Nest Hub do you have (1st, 2nd, Nest Hub Max)? Does your Nest Hub screen return to normal when you turn on the lights?

Please check the firmware version of your device. Follow the steps below to learn how:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings > About devices. You should find your "Cast firmware version." For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi
