Doesn't Play Music After Saying it Will

Just in the past couple of days, when I give Google home a request to play music, like I've done a million times before, it confirms that it's going to play the playlist on Spotify as normal...but then nothing happens. It doesn't open Spotify, it doesn't play any music. It just silently stops like nothing ever happened.

However, if anyone else is running into this, I found that if you explicitly ask it to play "on Spotify" it's been working (so far). I didn't used to have to specify which service to play music from, unless I wanted something besides Spotify.

Hi @cmccoy1701

There are some other posts about this  including one from me on problems with Spotify that have started in about the past week. I posted about playing the radio and attempting to switch to Spotify and getting the response that it would but the radio continued to play. Also found that it would not always switch to some playlists or music artists using voice commands even though the response came back that it would.

Tried a factory reset of the equipment (bit of a pain) as suggested by google chat and this seemed to resolve the issue but only for a short time since a couple of days later the problems came back.

For the past 18 months it all worked fine with no problem. Most annoying.
