Double-tap is aggrivating me

Hello,

Every time I try to select something on the screen of my hub max, it says "double tap to activate." I do not want to have to do this every single time I use it. I was simply trying to delete grocery lists and I had to double tap to delete it, then Google would freeze in the middle of the response and go back to home after deleting. I tried to click on something and then it seemed to spaz out... I'm getting very tired of this device. It's not very user friendly and I have a much easier time using my phone instead. I want to connect my doorbell to the hub so I can actually hear the doorbell go off when someone arrives. I can't even seem to manage the device enough to do that... I need help before I completely rid myself of it

Hi kristaeileen95,

Thanks for reaching out.

We're sorry to hear about this experience with your Google Nest Hub Max. I'd like to ask a few things before we start some steps-- when did you notice this behavior? Does it ask you to double tap on every action you try to perform on the screen of your Google Nest display? Let's go ahead and try these steps first:

  • Reboot the Google Nest Hub Max - Unplug the device from the power source for at least 2 minutes.
  • Reboot your router - Unplug the router from the power source for 20 minutes to refresh its network settings. This way, we can avoid network congestion and refresh its network settings.

As soon as every devices are plugged in, test the screen and see if the steps made any changes on its behavior. Let us know how it goes!

Best,

Princess
