Duplicate Entries for same Nest Mini in Home App

Moving a Nest Mini (ver 1) to a new room and renaming it has created two of the same device, both now named "kitchen speaker". 

 

One is clearly correct and the duplicate is a bit off, but they are both definitely referencing the same speaker. Removing the duplicate device just places it into the "other casting devices" section at the bottom of the Google Home app and won't forget the speaker itself.

 

I have rebooted both versions and still have an extra "kitchen speaker".

Hey itsdotcom,

 

We're sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's see what's going on.

 

  • Try clearing the cache and data of your Google Home app then, reinstall it.
  • If the issue persists, try creating a new home structure and move your devices there. Once done, you can delete your old home.
