Favorite radio station suddenly won't play - Melbourne Australia

Robbo9
Community Member

Have been listening to Triple M FM Melbourne for a year with out issue.  Suddenly today it plays a different station from what I'm asking for.  After a little investigating, I find that radio stations that are linked to either iHeart and Tunein are being played, but nothing via the Listnr app.  Has the Listnr app been dropped.

"Help" pages instruct to arrange your radio requirements via    Media>Manage your system>Radio (button)   But there is no Radio button (Only Music, Video, Podcast or Create Groups)

@DMJ & @JaneML

It's a known issue and the concerned teams are aware. I am also having this glitch.

Hopefully, they can get a fix out to us soon!

Is there another post where they acknowledge it?

Same problem here. I'm trying to play my local NPR station, and it tells me that that station is not available or that it can't be played at this time. I can play the live stream of the station for my phone and cast it but I would rather play it directly from the speaker itself.

I have been having the same problem for a week. Mine won't play the radio or Sirius. I rebooted the google mini, I uninstalled & reinstalled it, I did a factory reset, nothing has worked.

I was playing Sirius 2 days ago and now I get the same message as the rest

I am having the same issue-What is the fix?

I can't find one. I think I read the TEAMS are looking into it. I have to cast from my phone to the speaker

Once again, I am unable to play any radio stations through my Home speakers. Every request gets "isn't available or can't be played right now" returned. Apparently only YouTube Music can be found. This is a fairly regular occurrence, and apparently widespread. Default music services were not changed. I changed them, no effect. Changed them back, no effect. I am getting upset when I think about the $12 I spend every month for a service that is not always available. Alexa does not seem to have similar issues. Perhaps it is time to go all Alexa in my home, and save $12 a month.

DITTO That!! NO RADIO since this weekend!!

The FINAL STRAW from ADHD Google, who creates technology and then like a 10 year old gets bored with it and ignores it. If this isn't remedied in 24 hours, my Google Assistant Mini goes in the Garbage Can! I WILL NEVER buy ANYTHING with the Google name on it!

@No_Work

The customer on this post was told this is now a global problem; maybe Google Nest will post an update:

Hi @No_Work @cobrajocky

Trying to find out what is going on with the radio glitch from the Assistant and Nest teams.

Hopefully they can resolve soon

It's Google ....... so don't hold your breath waiting. Last time the idiots screwed up some coding on Google Voice, there were problems for months!!  "god" help us if they release an actual AI app, it will be dangerous!

Came here to see if this was posted.  TuneIn, Audacy, I<3Radio,... all "unable to find or unavailable right now" just as you described.

Why do these speakers/smart homes get less reliable each year? 2023 performance should be better than 2019... just saying.

BBC Radio hadn't been working for me for several days (see various other posts). But today I discovered that it *would* work for my Mum! With the exact same words.   She's not identified as a user by our Home. So I assume that's the difference, bizarrely.

This morning my google home could no longer play stations from XM Radio. I contacted XM and they had m wait on the phone for over an hour trying to get it to work. I can link XM to google home but it will not play a station, such as Hey google play Sirius XM 70s or 7... or any other station.

Having an issue streaming Hot 102.7FM (South Africa) on Google nest device via TuneIn

can’t use voice commands to play Sirius XM on my Google Nest. I can cast it from phone & close the app& the streams continues. FIX IT, GOOGLE

I had the same issue and posted earlier in the thread. I found that syntax seems to be important, i.e., Sirius XM usually plays if I say, "Okay, Google, play MLB Network Radio via Sirius XM."  It is important to get the Sirius channel name exactly right and it helps your success rate to use "via" instead of "on."

Same here. Both mini and Nest experiencing same issue.

Same here

Thanks for letting us know. Too bad it has to come form the community and not Google itself.
