I have just bought a 2nd gen 2 Hub  and up until today working great, for some reason now when I ask google to turn on the lamp in the same room the Hub turns the lamp on but makes a chime sound now, before google would say ok turning on lamp in bedroom but now doesn’t say anything

I have checked the settings and have the sound turn off for the start and end of a questions how can I get this fixed thanks

It is actually working as intended. If you ask to control lights not in that room, you will get the verbal response.

Ok thanks why does it do it thought and not talk back

Because if you are in the room with the lights, you don't need to hear it saying that it is turning off those lights, you can see it. In the early days, this was the top requested feature change.

Thanks for visiting the Community.

@kiltguy2112, I appreciate your help on this thread.

@Gainey, @kiltguy2112 is correct. The feature is working as intended on devices that are set up on the same room. You may also want to check this link for more info about this.
