We have a Google Home and a mini nest. Two months ago, our internet provider upgraded us to Fibre Optic, and we have not been able to get them to work since then.
I deleted the Google Home App as well as the Google Assistant from my iPhone and then added them again. I have reset both the Google Home and the mini nest and both appear to be connected to my Google Home app. I also rebooted our router.
The issue in resetting these up is that when I get to the point where it indicates to set up Google Assistant I get an error "The operation couldn't be completed. (kGSKErrorDomain error -83905.)"
When I "Hey Google" to either device, I am told to "please log in through the Google Home App."
We do not have many other devices connected to the router, so it is not a bandwidth issue. I have tried many times over the past few months to figure out the solution online and seem to just keep doing the same things repeatedly. Delete, reset, reboot.
I am not overly tech-savvy and am really missing the ability to ask for music and add items to my shopping and to-do lists while my hands are dirty!
Please help!

Thanks Rachel, but all of that is as it should be without any luck.

Hi folks,
@RachelGomez123, thanks for the help.
@Mary84, we're sorry you had to go through that and we're here to help. For confirmation, when you did the reset, was it the same steps as found on this link? If yes then thank you for doing it, that way we can narrow things further. And the error message that you provided, it would seem that you need to change your phone's language to US-EN first and check if the behavior sticks. It would also help a ton if you could change your Google Assistants language or just double-check if it's in English. Follow the steps below:
Keep us posted.
Best,
Dan

I have success! Thank you.
I had reset the devices correctly and couldn't access the language for the Google Assistant because when I went into my account and tapped Assistant Settings I would get an error message saying something went wrong, and please try again. I changed the language setting on my phone from EN-Canada to EN-US just to see if it would work, and also deleted the Google Home App again and reinstalled it. During the setup, I was able to change the setting to EN-Canada again, and I knew as soon as I kept being asked more questions during the setup rather than just getting an error message that it was working. In the end, I'm not sure exactly what made it work, but it does, and I'm happy!

Hi Mary84,
I'm glad that you're able to work this out. As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this one as resolved and will be closing this thread after 24 hours. Please feel free to open up a new thread if you have other questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Dan
