Google Home Alarm

JoMiskin
Community Member

Several years ago, I set an alarm or reminder for an event and it has been going off each week since then.

I searched under alarms/reminders/tasks but can't find it. How do I turn it off please?

When it goes off, the graphic is of several clock faces moving from the top to the bottom. Thank you

Usually just saying "Hey Google, Cancel Alarm" or "Cancel 5am Alarm" should be enough.

Alarms are shown in the speaker's settings under Audio.

Hi @JoMiskin,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing inconveniences stopping the alarm. I’m here to help!

Since you’ve mentioned trying to disable the alarm through the Google Assistant, I’d like to confirm the following details:

In the meantime, I’d suggest the following steps:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Google Home app and the mobile software version.
  • Verify that you're signed into the Google Home app using the same account associated with your Google Nest device.
  • Perform a restart of your Google Nest device by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. For more information, refer to this article: Reboot Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
  • Check if the recurring alarm appears through the Google Home app. If it does, try deleting it from there. And create a new one, in case you need it. For reference, you can check out this article: Set and manage alarms on your Google Nest speaker or display.

I also appreciate your input, @SmartHomeH-TAGS.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Hi Jennifer

Thank you. I've checked and it's neither an alarm or notification. Also, It's a Google Home Nest Max.

I've checked the Home app too and no alarms are showing. If it helps, when the alarm goes off, the display changes to several clock faces moving from the bottom to the top of the screen. I've rebooted it too. Thank you

Hi @JoMiskin,

Thanks for your prompt reply and the additional details you've shared.

I understand that you've already reached out to our Nest department support. Could you please provide your case number, if available? This will help us track your case more efficiently.

Regarding the clock faces moving from the bottom to the top, have you tried performing a factory reset on your Google Home Max? If not, please try resetting the device and setting it up again through the Google Home app. You can find instructions here: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays and Set up your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

I've tried both of those without success. If I ask it to show me any alarms, timers or notifications, it says I don't have any.

When you see these clock faces going from bottom to top do you see "00" behind it?
