Google Home Automations are not Triggering at scheduled time

Bugwug

I have been using Google Automations for last couple of years and they have always worked at the designated Time triggers

Last week, i wanted to have a look at Public Preview and subscribed, had a look at the Script Interface, and then logged out.

Later that night, i noticed that my night time Timed Schedule had not triggered so i started the Routine manually.

In the morning, the morning Routine had not triggered at 6:40am, so i started that Manually too

None of my Scheduled Routines now work unless manually started

I have Disabled/Enabled a Routine - no differance
I have created New Routine - no differance
I have modified a routine - no differance
I have unsubscribed from Public Preview
I have ensured Google App is up to date
IOS is up to date

if i log in to Web OS i can see the routines

This is driving me loopy

Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the trigger routine, but no need to worry; help is here.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps below:

Remove the home automation in the Google Home app if the device isn't recognized.

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Automations.
  • Select the routine you want to delete.
  • Tap Delete Delete routine.

Create a Household Routine

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Automations Add select household.
  • To name your routine, tap Untitled.
    • If you add a voice starter before you name your routine, the voice starter becomes the name.

To learn more about your routines, you can refer to this article: Create and manage Routines in Google Home.

Let me know how things go.

Regards,

Gabriela

Hi ,

I'm sorry to hear that this issue is still not resolved. I understand that your routines aren't starting. It is a pleasure to continue supporting you.

If you can't identify a device within the available starters and actions for a routine, make sure it's in the same home as the routine.

  • In your Google Home app, select your favorites. At the top, ensure that you are using the desired home for the routine.
  • Select the devices. If the device is added to local devices rather than a room, it could be in a different home.
  • To change the device's home, press and hold the device's name, and then press Settings.
  • Select Device Information. Home is the name of the home you are using.

If your device is in the correct home but not included in starters or actions, it may not be supported for Routines at this time.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Gabriela

Hi Gabriela

The problem is not any one Device but all of them.

As mentioned previously, this has been a problem since i joined Googles Public Preview - since then, i can create Routines within the Web Browser and they run fine, Routines in the Home App still continue to be ignored.

thanks

Hi ,

Thank you so much for keeping me updated. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your routines since  you joined Google's Public Preview

Public Preview provides you early access to the latest Google Home app features before they become widely available. Participants can test new features and provide feedback so that Google can continue to improve them before they are published to the public.

You can refer to this article to learn more about Google's Public Preview  and how to leave in case you don't want to use it anymore.  Public Preview for Google Home app.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Gabriela

Thanks Gabriela

As i mentioned in the original post, i have unsubscribed from Google Public Preview and the problem of my Routines no longer triggering persist.

It really requires Google to assist as i believe its a fault with Public Preview and i cannot be the only one.

Thanks
