My family uses Google Home and Google Family Link and have speakers in every room of our house. We also have Wyze plugs in all of our rooms. Something has changed and made it so my kids cannot control their Wyze plugs (turn off lights) as they were once able to do. The assistant says that it cannot connect to Wyze right now. I have reconnected Wyze to see if that would solve the problem but it does not. Something has happened with them being able to do it on the Google end, I believe. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Hi Swalt,
We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. We'll work together to identify the cause of the problem and find a solution. A few questions: when did it begin? Were there any recent changes made? Are they having issues using other features like playing music or controlling other third-party devices linked to your Google Home too? Also, what Google Nest speakers or displays do you own?
I look forward to your response.

Juni

Thank you. This started about a month ago. It works perfectly with music, Google results, etc. It just does not work with Wyze commands. I have not tried with other non-Google devices (like our ceiling fan, etc,) that are not on Wyze or Google. I will try this and report back. This started about a month ago. I am not sure if this is related to the Google Home or some type of restriction I may have selected in the Google Family Link app but I have reviewed it every which way to see if there is something preventing it from working.

Hi there,
Thanks for the details you’ve shared. You can have your kids simply play music via voice command on your Google Home speakers. If you have other devices linked to your Google Home aside from Wyze, you can try to have them control that too using voice commands so we can isolate it.
If you get the same result, you can try to retrain their voice. Check out the steps below on how to do it:
Tip: Your child needs to read a few phrases out loud. If your child needs help with reading, you can whisper the phrases into their ear, but try to whisper away from the mic so that Google Assistant learns your child’s voice instead of yours.
Best,
Juni

I retrained my kids voices and that didn't change anything. I did discover that when I ask the kids to control another device that is linked to Google but not a Google device, the response each time is that it cannot reach the "company" name device. So it has to be something not related to Wyze but to something related to their Family Link and something that does not allow them to control outside the Google app. I just am not sure if it is something that I have control to fix or if it is something behind the scenes that is broken. They can control music, etc using the Google devices. It is non-Google devices that will not work.
