Google Home Max Speakers lose stereo connection

Coloredo311

I own two Google Home Mac speakers, and the stereo connection between the two of them constantly drops. Sometimes it drops within an hour, sometimes a day, sometimes a few days, but it never makes it past a few days. The only solution is to reboot them / unplug/plug back in… then they begin to work as they should… in stereo together.

please help!

Hi @Coloredo311,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that the stereo connection between your two Google Home speakers keeps dropping. I'd be happy to help!

To gather more information, I'd like to ask the following:

In the meantime, check the following:

  • Make sure the Google Home app and your mobile device's software are up-to-date.
  • Check for potential interference sources like microwaves, cordless phones, or baby monitors near the speakers. For reference, you can check out this article: Troubleshoot wireless interference.
  • Verify the firmware version of your speakers. Refer to this article for guidance: Find your device's firmware version.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

Same on Nest Audios and Minis, music plays only on left sepakers after last update. Must stop streaming of Spotify or YMusic on the devices. Then play again and starts correctly on both. This is a headache. Come on Google!!!

Hi @enagen,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that you're having inconveniences playing Spotify and YouTube Music through your Nest Audios and Nest Minis in stereo. Help's here!

To better assist you, please provide the following information:

  • What are the specific models of your Nest Mini devices (1st Gen or 2nd Gen)?
  • How far are your Nest devices from your Wi-Fi router and from each other?
  • How did you initially set up the stereo connection between your speakers?

In the meantime, you can refer to the following article for proper stereo setup: Pair two speakers for stereo sound. Please remember that to create a stereo pair, both speakers must be the same model.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

To anyone reading this. Do NOT waste your time performing the trouble shooting steps provided by the google home support team. There are generic and will not solve your issue. Google is well aware of the stereo pairing problem but won't allocate the developer resources requied to fix it. Money must be tight over at Google.
