Google Home Mini 1st Gen speaker - receiving call ringing & call accept questions

  • It's the 1st gen speaker

  • Not going to be on my wifi, I want to set it up for somebody who is elsewhere

  • Now I can call them on Google Duo by tapping their phone number in Google Duo. Their phone number is registered in the Google Duo app

  • I understand I need to reset the home mini, link to their Google Home app and Google Duo

  1. Ringing

So if they receive the call from my google Duo app, will it ring automatically on both their mobile device AND the Home Mini speaker at the same time?

2. Accepting call

They can tap on the Home Mini on either side where is volume to receive the call. Right?

Requirements:

  • The Google Home Mini needs to be connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Both the Mini and their mobile device should be linked to the same Google account.
  • Important: Google Home Mini can only receive audio calls, not video calls through Duo.

Accepting the Call:

That's right! They can simply tap either side of the Google Home Mini (where the volume controls are) to pick up.
