Google Home Nest Hub Max and two Chromecast Audio speaker groups will not group

Help,

I have a Google Nest Hub Max and two Chromecast Audio devices that I would like to group.  I have had these devices working for the past couple of years individually and grouped reasonably well.  Recently, I changed my network at the house.  I am absolutely certain that the devices are on the same 2.4 GHz network and not  5.  I have factory reset these devices. I have reloaded Google Home app.  Every time the devices all appear and integrate individually in the app.  But every time I try to group the three or even two devices into a speaker group, they appear as grouped, but only one device will play when the group is selected.  Please help!

I just checked this past weekend with hopes that an update of android or google would magically fix the issue.  Again, my devices are all up to date and even after removing and recreating the group the problem still persists.  One item that may be the cause even though I can't perfectly telegraph it is that I am now using a Verizon Gateway Wireless Internet device to provide wireless internet to the house.  Is this the problem?  Do I need to route the internet through another wireless network device???  Grasping at straws.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.
