Google Home Nest audio

Hi everyone. My name is Janot, I'm from Quebec City, Canada.

EXCUSE MY ENGLISH... SORRY, I SPEAK FRENCH...

I have a BIG problem with All my Google Nest Audio Speakers and Hub. When I start music from PLEX or Spotifty or any other else, everything is fine... No problem. BUT when I start Google Home on my smartphone, Oh boy... All my speakers cut and cut again and the sound is terrible... I have change my Router for a big Router (Asus RT-AXE7800) and my configuration is good... (I think), and it's still the same problem. I know, I have 11 speakers, but even if I use only 5 speakers, the problem is there... Can someone has a solution for me. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Hi Janot,

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: when did your issue begin? Does it have a stutter or buzzing sound when a song is played? Is it happening only when casting from your phone to your speakers? Are all devices 2.44 GHz or 5 GHz? Are they in a speaker group?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first and follow it up with some troubleshooting:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.
  4. Move at least 2 or 3 Nest speakers close to your router and replicate the issue.
  5. Give a voice command or try casting from your phone to play music.

To eliminate network issues, please try setting 1 of your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Tell me how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan,
I had already done all this kind of test.
Now I am able to generate the problem, whenever I want.
The problem comes from the Google Home Software. If I accidentally restart the Google Home
software a second time, that's where the problem occurs. The second a second instance of the
program starts, all speakers disconnect in turn.

I start the Google Home program on my smartphone, everything is fine.
If I also start it on my tablet, the problem occurs. That's it. Thks Dan !!!

Hey there Janot,

When you mentioned disconnects, does that mean your Nest devices disconnect from Wi-Fi or just won’t play anymore? May I know the exact error message ? Also Google Home software, which device are you referring to? Are Nest Audio and Nest Hub placed on a speaker group? Aside from the steps above, what other troubleshooting steps have you gone through?

Let's isolate this further.

Best,

Dan
