Google Home disconnects from Wifi everyday

MightyMaestro

Our Google Home has been working fine for a few years now. In the last week, it has been saying that I must connect to wifi first. It has never done that before.

I unplug it and plug it back in and it connects to wifi and everything is fine for a day, but then it loses the connection again.

I know that it gets a signal, because it does connect, plus the TV has wifi (just beside each other), but to verify, I moved it to my office which is less than 2 meters from the Wi-Fi modem. The problem still occurs.

Hi MightyMaestro,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Google Nest device that is disconnecting from the WiFi. I understand how frustrating this situation can be. But don't worry; help is here. I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • What Google Nest device do you have?
  • Do you see the device on the app?
  • What other steps did you try to solve the situation besides unplugging and plugging the device back?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,

Jenny

Hi Jenny.

I have a Google Nest Speaker.
The device does appear on the mobile app after I perform a factory reset, but when it tells me that i must connect to WiFi first, it is no longer available (Offline).
The other steps have been factory reset, with the same result.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi MightyMaestro,

Thanks for confirming this information. I understand that after trying multiple steps, including the factory reset, the Google Home device is still not working as expected and not connecting to the Wi-Fi correctly. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this can cause. But the team would like to learn more about this behavior. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there.

Regards,
Jenny
