Hi, the mute function is no longer working like it used to. I've used it for years and when I say mute hey Google mute that is the volume will go to zero and then after I'm done picking up the phone or getting the door or whatever I say unmute hey Google unmute and the volume would restore. Now volume if it changes at all from zero when I say unmute it may go to one. It never goes back to the original volume setting like it did for years.

It looks like Google Assistant's mute/unmute behavior has changed. Try saying "Set volume to 50%" (or your preferred level) instead of "unmute." You can also check for updates or reset settings in the Google Home app.

Hi @Martyy,
Thank you for posting in the community. I understand the mute function is not working like it used to. I'm happy to assist you.
Returning the volume to its previous level after unmuting would be more functional than restarting from zero. This feature may be useful, considering your needs and the needs of all Nest users. We're always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate your feedback.
Let me know if you have more questions.
Regards,
Anders
