Google Home speaker not responding unable to connect with cloud

Hi

I am from Maharashtra, India. I have Google home 1st generation speaker, it has been working fine but of lately, it has stopped connecting to cloud. I have done factory reset umpteen times, switched of switch on. It responds to Hey Google but does nothing further. I was fortunate enough to get the response last day, but now it is not connecting to cloud. It is really frustrating as I am used to it for all my daily things. If any solution for let me know, some wifi router settings to be tweaked or something else.

Hi Omarazizsm,

I know how it feels when something isn’t working the way it should. Let’s further look into it. The 2 microphone holes on top of your Google Home device are quite sensitive—ensure that they aren't covered with any dust or dirt. Try to tap and hold a finger on the touch surface of your Google Home speaker for approximately 3 seconds, then give it a command.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

Hi,

the 2 microphones are clear of any dirt or dust, the touch surface and even “hey google” activates the led on top but it doesn’t follow any command

Hi there,

Let’s check the audio recording in My Activity:

  1. Open the Google Home app  > Tap Settings.
  2. Under Home features, tap Privacy.
  3. Select Home activity.
Note: This opens a list of all recent voice commands you have given.
  4. Identify the most recent command that generated a failed response.
  5. Select Details below the Assistant Query (this will expand out the details).
  6. Tap the Play button on the query card (try to play a few) to confirm from My Activity what your Google Home speaker heard at the time the issue occurred.
  7. Check if the audio recording is clear or if there is static, buzzing, or distortion. Are there other issues with the audio quality?

Best,
Alex

Hi Alex

I checked as advised by you, but to my surprise there were no activity registered from Google Home speaker but there were activities from my mobile device.

Please suggest further, to make it work
