Google Hub Max call won't ring on my iPhone

Hello, 

When my kids call my phone from the google Hub Max using the Duo app, the call does not ring on my iPhone. It will show up as a missed call if I open the Duo app but the calls never ring to alert me that they are trying to call me. 

It does ring normally when they call their Dad's iPhone or their grandfathers phone. I've googled this and checked settings but I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. 

I would love some help.

Thanks for sharing details regarding this issue. I know how hard it can be to not have such an important feature work when needed - we're here to help.

A few questions:

• When did the issue start?
• What account is logged in on the Google Nest Hub Max while they're making a duo call?
• How many accounts are logged in on the Nest display?
• Does the same thing happen when using a different account on the Nest Hub Max?

Good morning, 

My Google account is the only one logged into. The problem started with my last Google hub actually. I upgraded to the Nest Hub Max and I’m still having the same problem from when I set up the new Nest. 

It only happens with my iPhone, with the Nest logged into my own account. 

It doesn’t happen when we call other numbers from the Nest.

Thanks for that information, and apologize for the late response.

Could you try adding a different account to the Google Nest Hub Max, then check if it will have the same behavior? To add a new home member, please follow the steps below or visit this link for more information.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Switch to the home you want to share.
3. At the top, tap Add Invite home member Invite person.
   • If you don't find "Invite home member," tap Add person to home.
4. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home tap Next.
5. Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home tap Next.
6. Review the person’s access to your home tap Send.

I love the Nest Hub Max but I'm still having trouble calling my own phone from the device. I tried everything.

My apologies for the delays. Upon further checking, calling your own duo account using your Google Nest Hub Max is not supported. For now, you can only use your Duo account on your phone to call your Nest displays or speakers.

Ah, that explains it.

I understand what it feels when you're having issues with your Google Nest Hub Max. To confirm, are you using the same Google Duo account on your Nest Hub Max when calling your phone? Does the same issue happen when you're using a different account on your Nest Hub Max?

I am using the same Google account to call my own phone. When we call other people (whom the account is not registered to) it rings through fine.

Upon further checking our team confirmed that you can call your phone using the Google Home/Nest devices while on the same account. Please check the settings on Google Duo app and make sure that settings below are enable.

Please try these settings below on how to turn on Duo notifications.

For Android:

1. Your device settings: Open your device's Settings Settings  and then Apps & notifications  and then Duo and then App notifications, and then check that notifications are on. 
2. In the app: Open Duo and then More More and then Notifications and then Turn on Call notifications.

For iOS:

1. Open your device's Settings Settings. 
2. Tap Notifications and then  Duo.
3. Turn on Allow notifications.

Does your team test on iOS device?

My Google Nest Hub Max and my iPhone 13 Duo app use same Google account.

Duo app notification setup is enabled by default on my iPhone.

I call myself from Nest hub max Duo and my iPhone is just silent, until the call hang up, my iPhone shows missed call notification from Duo app.

I can make Duo call from Nest hub max to my wife. She uses iPhone 13 as well, but her Duo app use her google account.

Thanks for the details you shared.

Can you also check if you have the same iOS version with your wife making sure that it's on its latest version? Have the "Do Not Disturb" turned off and lastly, try to uninstall and reinstall back Google Duo.

This is the exact problem, you cant call your own account from your Nest Hub Max since it thinks its calling the same number.  But as soon as you stop trying the call you get a notification that there is a missed call.  They need to allow being able to call the same account that the Hub Max is linked to.  Its nothing to do with settings, the product simply doesnt support what were trying to do.  Hopefully they can fix it soon

Is there still no way for my hub max to call my own duo account? I was really hoping the kids would be able to call me from it but nothing is working. I really hope this is something google can come out with in the near future this was a big selling point of the hub max for me
