Hi leondar,

Thanks for reaching out — let’s see what’s going on.

A few questions: Is this for a brand new set up? What is the distance between your Google Nest Hub Max and your Wi-FI router? Also, what steps have you taken so far?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Reboot your Wi-Fi router
  2. Reboot your Google Nest Hub Max.
  3. Tap the Finish setup on the screen.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

Have tried multiple times to run through setup with rebooting both unit and wifi router, still arriving at same unresponsive screen showing "almost done"  with the finish button unresponsive

Hey leondar,

Chiming in, let's proceed with resetting your Nest Hub Max by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub Max, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest display.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Thank you Muddi, I had already repeated above procedure multiple times with no change to outcome, ie, screen with "Almost done"message and unresponsive "Finish Setup" button

Hi there,

Understood. To isolate this, could you set up your Nest Hub Max using a mobile hotspot? See the instructions below:

(You would need 2 mobile devices: 1st is for the Google Home app and 2nd will act as a Wi-Fi network using mobile hotspot)

  1. Turn on the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.
  2. Reset your Nest Hub Max to its default settings.
  3. Make sure your 1st device is connected to the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.
  4. Re-run the setup on your Google Home app and choose your mobile hotspot as the network to set it up.

Keep me posted.

Juni
