Google Max speakers lose connections repeatedly

This was discussed here with nothing that worked:

I have been putting up with this for years now and wonder if there is a solution. Here are the symptoms: Speakers work for a day or two and then lose a connection. In the Home application it will show the paired stereo speakers which I name Stereo and the other speakers Left and Right. It is random which speaker will lose a connection. But when it does, I have to reset to factory and re-pair with Home. Sometimes it reverts to one of the paired speaker names (Left or Right). Sometimes when the pair is working, it shows up as one of the paired speaker names in Home but still plays in Stereo. But eventually one of the speakers loses its connection and has to be factory reset. Also, when I show the music playing in Spotify, it shows the wrong name--not one that I gave a speaker, but a previous default name (e.g., Living Room Speaker). There was a suggestion years ago about resetting each speaker to factory ten times and I did that, but the connection issues remain. Are these just faulty from the factory? These connection issues seem to be common.

Were these discontinued because they were faulty from the factory???
