Google Mini (gen 1) cannot connect to new WiFi Router

I recently upgraded to LinkSys WiFi 6 Router (MR9600).  Everything on my network reconnect except Google Mini Gen 1 speaker. I kept the same ID and password. I am tech savy and have tried many fixes including:

  • Updated HOME app on my Samsung S20 phone. App version 3.28.1.7
  • Reset Google speaker many times
  • Successfully connected the mini to another phone hotspot using HOME app on Samsung phone to set it up
  • Restarted router, modem many times
  • In the HOME app used both the feature to input WiFi password manually and automatically to ensure the password is correct.
  • Attempted to connect to both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz WiFi. Previously connected to my old router via 5GHz
  • Confirmed new router does not have any MAC filtering
  • Attempted to preassign Google mini local IP to a small number i.e. 50 using DHCP reservation
  • Confirmed Router firmware is updated
  • Confirmed security protocol (WPA2) was same as my Pixel hotspot and new router

Open to suggestions or perhaps anything I have overlooked.

Hello DWGib,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I’m sorry to know that your Google Nest Mini Gen 1 is not connecting to your new Wi-Fi router. Don't worry; I would be more than pleased to help.

I appreciate that you have taken action by performing the troubleshooting steps described above. So let's explore more tips:

  • The recommended distance from the Wi-Fi router to the Google Nest Mini is 4–6 m (15–20 ft).

  • Disable the access point (AP) or client isolation. If you don’t know how to do this, contact your ISP or router manufacturer.

  • Disable VPN or proxy server

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Daniel
