Evening,
I've recently bought a Tapo colour smart bulb to pair with my Nest Audio. I've been wanting to use the 'Sleep my light' and 'Gentle wake up' feature on the Google Assistant before bed and when waking up in winter.
Since getting it, neither function seems to work.
Google acknowledges the command 'Sleep my light' and then the bulb flicks to a brighter different shade as if it's about to start the function. It does start to dim over about 10 minutes but then the dimming stops at either 77% or 71% brightness and dims no further? The same happens the opposite way for 'Gradual wake up' and doesn't get brighter.
Any ideas or suggestions?
I've debated whether I should try a Phillips Hue bulb instead but then I've seen an article saying that all smart bulbs should have the 'Sleep my lights' and 'Gentle wake up' feature now.
Thank you!
Cheers.

It would be nice if all smart bulbs supported this function, but they don't. Try another bulb and see if will use this feature.

Evening!
Cheers for the quick response.
I think you're right!
It was this article I read when trying to unviel my confusion- https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.techhive.com/article/3575839/google-assistant-gentle-sleep-and-wake...
I think it has falsely made me believe this bulb works with that command. First reason, the Tapo bulb clearly isn't responding to the command and second reason, I can't find any smart function on the Tapo app which offers the slow dimming function either.
Thanks for the help kiltguy2112.
I'll be ordering a new bulb after this thread and will hopefully post a successful response afterwards.
Cheers

Have a great day.
